Nordstrom Rack
Nordstrom is a retailer offering clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, and kids. Nationwide Fixture Installations was contracted to self-perform custom installation services at over 40 Nordstrom stores across the United States, with projects ranging from refreshes, to remodels, to completed new store installs. NFI completed the assignments on time and on budget, and received a rave testimonial from our client contact.
NFI initially began by executing several store refreshes through a partnership with the millwork manufacturer on a “time & materials” basis. After several location refreshes, we pivoted to hard bids on projects.
For each installation project that was added to the schedule, NFI assigned a crew of 4-5 experienced Nordstrom installers, including main Nordstrom leads. NFI worked with operations to adequately staff each job with the most adept crew possible and were eventually able to build a Nordstrom-specific millwork tool kit, as well as lists of sight specific consumables that will be required. Remodel/refreshes at the various Nordstrom locations can be different each time, with some projects lasting one week or less, while others continue for one to two months with multiple mobilizations to accommodate the store’s hours and site conditions.
The result at each location is a new or refreshed Nordstrom Rack store ready to be merchandised and open to the public. The stores have a clean, simple design with a focus on the product, and NFI provided top of the line installs to help them achieve that goal.
Over the past three years, NFI has steadily built and optimized the program, training multiple installers and leads, and working with both the millwork manufacturer and Nordstrom to develop a “Nordstrom Install Bible” which includes FAQs and Common Issues related to the install, sign-off and approval forms, first day/first hour reports, site specific plans and, shop drawings, etc. Nordstrom has been extremely happy with this process, elevating the millwork provider and NFI, due in large part to our teams’ install performances and professionalism.
